This marvelous short film “Butterly Circus” makes me consider in the deepest part of my heart that what is rejected in the eyes of mankind is precious in the eyes of God. May we see the intrinsic value that God has given to each of us, as we are precious and beloved by God our Father!
Why didn’t the man without limbs see his marvelous value like the circus master did in this short film? Watch this film and consider how God see marvelous potential in each of us that we ourselves don’t see. Pope St. John Paul II once said that Christ has come to reveal man to himself. As we come to know Jesus love for us and His plan for our lives this is revealed more deeply to us.
The fascinating truth about the actor Nick Vujicic who plays the man who had no limbs in this film, is that he didn’t really need to act like he has no limbs, or try to imagine what it would feel like, as he has no limbs in real life. In fact, the self rejection he displays in this film he has experienced himself and that he triumphed over it is part and parcel of his own testimony/story. We certainly hope to showcase his story for St. Therese’s Vision for Disability Giftedness shortly, but for now please read on!
I hope you can see how no matter how worthless you feel, that God has a plan for you. I hope that you see that when life seems like a “Butterfly Circus” that mocks you, no matter what challenges or brokenness you are going through, that like the caterpillar that transforms into the butterfly that you will see displayed in this film, God can give you the metamorphosis revealing the beauty of your life.
Indeed, Jesus came to show each of us how precious we are in the eyes of God our Father in Heaven by laying down His life on the cross for our redemption. A Catholic saint of the middle ages once said that if any of us had been the only one, Jesus would have died for our sins personally to rescue us. Such is His unique and individual, infinite and personalized love for us as individuals created in His image and likeness. Therefore, by following His vision and plan for our lives we will be transformed into the butterfly (i.e saint) that He has created each and every one of us to be!
